In Cristina Cocco’s works, it is possible to appreciate the smooth, clean line of the drawing, the chiaroscuro effects, the respect of the laws of perspective, the artist’s ability to represent the natural and anthropic worlds in a cultured and refined way by using an original and engaging pictorial language.
In the artist’s paintings, the viewer can feel the breath of nature that has been internalized and reinterpreted in a metaphysical perspective. Thus, Cristina Cocco unravels in front of the viewer’s eyes a mysterious universe that discloses hidden truths, which can be investigated only by digging into the depth of the subconscious.

PROJECT “EVOLUTION”

THE DECAY OF MATTER SHOWS THE SIGNS OF A FLUID DYNAMISM FACING REBIRTH

The artist’s pictorial flow evokes the phases of an ideal process of evolution, such as occurs for the water lilies in the silent water of the pond. Cristina Cocco’s artistic research begins with the curious and methodical observation of the Victoria cruziana and the Euryale ferox, with their suggestive shapes and enchanting colors. The “evolution” project introduces the passage from the wonder of flowering to the subsequent decomposition, the harbinger of a future regeneration. The sinuous waves that appear in the last paintings of this cycle anticipate the arrival of a pictorial dimension where the disintegration of the material shows the signs of a fluid dynamism aimed at rebirth.

The works of the project “evolution” are exhibited in the Botanical Gardens of Padua and Palermo.
