The choreographic project by Margherita Pirotto and the music by Carlo Carcano draw inspiration from the pictorial cycle Levitations by the artist Cristina Cocco, the result of a long research work, based on the spirituality of human nature in decay, where the secret dynamism of vital energy is it visualizes in light waves within which luminescent figural shapes are outlined.
Levitations, a journey into the unknown that starts from the hot matter of a dead body and turns into signs of light that parade one over the other aiming to find, without revealing themselves, a shape. Levitations finds in the expression of dance a tool for further development and definition, in a continuous dialogue between the multiple artistic languages: dance, painting, music.
On stage the opera and three dancers (Andrea Cravotta, Alessandro Martinello and Monica Polonio) develop the choreography of Margherita Pirotto on a sound dramaturgy developed by Carlo Carcano, evoking a harmonious dance in which matter and spirituality dialogue in a constant transfer of roles, in an exchange of witnesses in which the journey turns into blindness and the certainty of the unknown.
